SEND

“A pupil has SEND where their learning difficulty or disability calls for special educational provision, namely provision different from or additional to that normally available to pupils of the same age.”
(SEND Code of Practice: P.82)

English Martyrs is an inclusive Catholic Primary School where all pupils are given opportunities to reach their academic potential and develop their personal skills and talents. All children are given the environment for learning and growing as individuals where quality-first teaching is paramount. Adaptations are made to ensure each child is stretched and challenged as well as supported and nurtured. For some children, there will need to be an additional level of support for them to learn and make progress. This support may be for academic, emotional, social or physical skills and will be organised by the class teacher, supported by teaching assistants. Children whose needs are specific and complex may need a little more support or something bespoke to meet their needs. These children will, in discussion with parents, be identified as having a special educational need or disability. The provision for these children will be overseen by Miss.Brown (SENDCO)

If you would like to make an appointment with Miss Brown please contact the school office.
